Busy Couple of Weeks!

The last couple of weeks have crazy at funky diva designs!

I have been working on a number of projects:

1. 12 Purses for a beautiful bride to give as presents to all her lovely helpers.

2. 4 Little cupcake totes for students on Cirencester Cupcake cupcake decorating workshops.

3. The gorgeous new bag ‘Katie’. Designed as a funky school bag to carry folders and everything else a girl needs!

4. A beautiful tote and purse matching set for a little girl in Australia.

5. Another fabulous diaper bag made using cotton twill and Amy Butler fabric.

6. Beautiful blue Alice bag with custom embroidery on.

Some of these bags have already got a blog of their own, but others are waiting for their debut which will be coming over the next few days!

Still loads of lovely orders to complete so I had better get back to the sewing machine!

All the Colours of the Rainbow!

A couple of weeks ago I shared with you a really exciting new venture with the Colourful Coach, Cathy Dean.  Today I completed the 12 bags for the order and I am really pleased with the result.

The 12 bags had started life looking like this:

Which I then organised into bag sets:

These sets, with a lot of sewing, have turned into this:

I think you will agree that I have met Cathys design brief of bright and colourful bags!

I couldnot have done it without the wonderful shops Saint and Pinners and Fabric Rehab.  They got my fabric to me super fast and offer the best ranges in bright colours!

No rest for wicked though – on to the next project that I will share with you over the weekend…..

Rainbow Adventures Part 2

Starting with the Monday Mosaic this week has turned into Rainbow Week!

On Wednesday I blogged about the lovely bright fabrics I had sourced for my wholesale order for Cathy Dean, The Colourful Coach.  All I had to do was wait for a couple more fabrics from Fabric Rehab which arrived yesterday:

Here is the spread of the patterned fabrics that will form the top part of the totes and the handles.

I then had to decide which plain brights to put with which patterned fabric.  The design brief was bright and clashing (but not too clashing) colour combinations! This was quite a long process and I am still not sure about the combinations, so they may well change before I finish all of the bags.

I managed to finish 4 bags today, but you won’t be seeing them until all 12 are finished!

Rainbow Fabric!

Last week I had a meeting with the very lovely Cathy Dean from Colourful Coaching Ltd who was looking for someone to make bags for her True Colours Foundation Workshop.  Each client on the workshop will get a bag  filled with treats and wonderful gifts as well as their workbook from the workshop. Cathy asked me to make the bags, one each for the clients.  She picked a design and then looked at a couple of web shops I love using: Fabric Rehab and Saints and Pinners.  Cathy was then able to show me the fabrics she really liked.

The above selection is the her selections from Saints and Pinners which arrived yesterday.  They are so scrummy!  Once you have checked out Cathys website you will understand why the colours are so bright and vibrant!

So I spend yesterday cutting up the fabric and preparing them for making into bags.  I am just waiting for a another fabric parcel from Fabric Rehab before I make them up.

As you can see each bag bottom will be a different colour and then the top of the totes will have a co-ordinated patterned fabric.  They will look really bright and cheerful in the room when the workshop starts!

I am waiting for the next load of fabric to arrive and then I shall be busy putting together the 12 bags in time for the first workshop at the end of the month!  I will keep you updated on my progress….
