Malmesbury Winter Fayre

On Saturday I packed up the car in the rain and wind and went over to the Malmesbury Winter Fayre.  It was held in a church hall and it was a bit touch and go getting there on time – never goes to plan with 3 small children to organise as well!

The fayre was a mixture of handmade crafts, brick ‘n’ brack stalls and stalls like Party Lite.  A good mix of stalls, but unfortunately the weather seemed to keep people away.  There was an initial rush of people when Christine Hamilton opened the fayre, but then it just slowed down totally. It started at 11am and by 1.30 there was no-one coming in at all so I packed up.

I made a couple of sales which covered costs – just.  But it was another good networking experience and a chance to talk to people who love their businesses as much as I do.  Such a shame that people were not venturing out in the rain and those that did were not willing to pay for the crafts there.

Why is people associate handmade with cheap?  Very frustrating!
