A couple of weeks ago I shared with you a really exciting new venture with the Colourful Coach, Cathy Dean. Today I completed the 12 bags for the order and I am really pleased with the result.
The 12 bags had started life looking like this:

Which I then organised into bag sets:

These sets, with a lot of sewing, have turned into this:

I think you will agree that I have met Cathys design brief of bright and colourful bags!
I couldnot have done it without the wonderful shops Saint and Pinners and Fabric Rehab. They got my fabric to me super fast and offer the best ranges in bright colours!
No rest for wicked though – on to the next project that I will share with you over the weekend…..

Starting with the Monday Mosaic this week has turned into Rainbow Week!
On Wednesday I blogged about the lovely bright fabrics I had sourced for my wholesale order for Cathy Dean, The Colourful Coach. All I had to do was wait for a couple more fabrics from Fabric Rehab which arrived yesterday:

Here is the spread of the patterned fabrics that will form the top part of the totes and the handles.

I then had to decide which plain brights to put with which patterned fabric. The design brief was bright and clashing (but not too clashing) colour combinations! This was quite a long process and I am still not sure about the combinations, so they may well change before I finish all of the bags.

I managed to finish 4 bags today, but you won’t be seeing them until all 12 are finished!

This weeks Wednesday Blogger is the very lovely Moira and her fabulous blog:

I first met Moira last November at a local Christmas Fair. Moira and her daughter were on the stall next to me with a selection of felted goods, childrens clothes and baths bombs. (The bath bombs were fabulous by the way!) It was a very wet day so the fair was pretty quiet and it gave us a chance to chat about life, sewing and crafts.
Since then Moira has been checking in on me via the blog and even went shopping at the one of the stores I had recommended – Fabric Rehab. I felt very honoured when she entered by blog giveaway, because Moira’s craft work is beautiful.
Moira’s blog is a window into her world of knitting, sewing and felting. Her blog is pack with observations about her life as well these crafts, so makes it the perfect read on a cold afternoon with a cup of hot chocolate. She even has the odd image of cake that makes me feel very hungry!
The title of the blog is ’stuff and nonsense’ but I personally think it is anything but! What do you think?

Last few weeks have been a bit of a rush, but today I finally got to sit down and make some more stock for my shops.
I decided to experiment with machine applique and I thought I would share the results with you.

I really enjoyed having a go at making this little bird. It is the most complicated piece of machine applique I have tried yet and I am really pleased with how it turned out. I really like the spotty cream fabric, which also lines with pencil case.

A bit out of my ‘comfort’ zone of colours, I for this lush orange fabric from Fabric Rehab. I love it and I bought a co-ordinated bundle so expect more in this sort of colour.

Again the pencil case is lined with the fabric from the flower.
As usual these pencil cases are available online in my Etsy shop, funky diva designs.
